Carrom Play is a tabletop game that originated in the Indian subcontinent and has since gained popularity in various parts of the world. It is played on a square wooden board with four corner pockets and involves using a striker to pocket playing pieces, known as carrom men, into the pockets.
The objective of Carrom Play is to pocket all of your carrom men (coins) and the red queen before your opponent does. Players take turns flicking the striker with their fingers to hit the carrom men and achieve this goal.
To set up Carrom Play, you will need:
Place the Carrom board on a flat surface and position the carrom men in a specific arrangement at the center. The red queen is placed at the center of the board surrounded by the carrom men, while the striker is placed within the striking circle.
Decide Player Order: Determine which player goes first. This can be done by flipping a coin or any mutually agreed-upon method.
Striking the Carrom Men: Players take turns flicking the striker with their fingers to hit the carrom men. The goal is to pocket your own carrom men while avoiding your opponent's pieces.
Pocketing the Queen: Before pocketing any of your own carrom men, you must pocket the red queen. Failure to do so results in a penalty.
Scoring Points: Players earn points for pocketing their carrom men and the red queen. The player who successfully pockets all of their carrom men and the red queen first wins the round.
Additional Rules: Carrom Play also includes rules regarding foul shots, penalties for pocketing the striker, and more, which players must adhere to during gameplay.
